Developing Teachers’ Code of
Conduct and Professional Ethics
1. Background
Norwegian Refugee Council has been operating since late 2006 in Puntland with an aim of supporting and implementing ABE by targeting the large number of out of school children and youth between ages 9/10 to 14 years. In this regard, NRC plans to support Puntland Ministry of Education (MOE) in developing a teacher’s code of conduct. Both Save the Children Denmark (SCD) and NRC will collaborate under the ISPABE project to give technical support to the MoE in Puntland put place a teachers’ code of conduct and professional ethics which will establish beliefs, values and attitudes to be accepted and followed by all teachers and stakeholders.
2. Project description
NRC in a consortium led by SCD obtained funding from the European Commission (EC) for “Support to Integrated Special, Primary and Alternative Basic Education (ISPABE)” Project in Puntland. The project aims at contributing to alleviation of poverty and developing a more peaceful, equitable and democratic society in Puntland with the following specific Objective.
