 CARE Somalia has been implementing interventions to address the emergency relief and rehabilitation needs of the tsunami affected communities in Puntland, Somalia since January 2005. CARE Somalia has distributed 491 tons of food to approximately 5200 households in 31 communities and provided 5400 trucks of water to approximately 5050 households in 42 villages. CARE Somalia has also prepared intervention plan for recovery and strengthening livelihoods of the tsunami affected people. The interventions are geared to: ð Restore fishing based livelihoods through the distribution of fishing gears, boats and construction of landing facilities.ð Support the establishment and operation of community based education and health system including the construction of new schools and new health facilities.ð Support the construction of 126 houses in Kulub and 20 houses in Marayo communities.ð Support the construction and / or rehabilitation of water systems in at least six communities. These include; construction of new borehole systems in Garaad, Kulub and Dhanane, new spring water systems in Marayo and Dharibar and lastly the rehabilitation of an existing spring water system at Barmadobe.ð Strengthen fishermen’s associations and facilitate sustainable management of marine resources such as lobsters, tuna and shark.ð Diversify fishing based incomes from fish. - The quoted price should include the cost of equipment, its installation/ and delivery to destination (Qardho and galkaio, Punt land, Somalia). The quoted price should be valid for each unit of the equipment and should remain valid for a period of at least one month from the quoted date.
- If the quantity of equipment to be delivered decreases or increases then the total amount will proportionately decrease or increase. CARE Somalia reserves the right to increase or decrease the quantity of equipment mentioned in the tender document without having to furnish any explanation to the supplier.
- The bidder should state the duration by when the quoted goods will be supplied.
- The payment will be made in US $ in garowe, punt land, Somalia through a bank check or through electronic transfer to the account of the supplier The bidder will be entirely responsible for any loss or damage of the equipment before they are delivered to CARE or its authorized agents or persons.
- Sealed bids should be delivered in the tender box at the CARE garowe office by 25th May at 9.00 Am latest addressed to CARE garowe Admin/HR Mr. Farhan abdiqan or Ali Ahmed Mohamed tsunami project manager. Sealed bids received after this time will be invalid.
- CARE Somalia reserves the rights to accept or reject any or all tenders.
