The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Rapid Response Rehabilitation of Rural Livelihoods Project (RRRRLP), and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to purchase steel beams, columns and elements for the construction of steel support structures for roofs and production conveyors of two (2) slaughterhouses to be built in Somaliland and Puntland.

The FAO Somalia Office now invites sealed bids from qualified bidders for the fabrication, supply and installation supervision/management of steel beams, columns and elements for the steel support structure for roofs (steel roof structure and roof coverings) and production conveyors (steel column framework) of two slaughterhouses (including service blocks and animal pens) to be built in Boroma (Somaliland) and Bosasso (Puntland). Bidders will be given the choice to bid for the supply of the required steel elements either to Dubai or Mombasa or Berbera (Somaliland) and Bosasso (Puntland) respectively depending on bidders’ preferences. The delivery period is eight weeks upon purchase order signing.

Bidding will be conducted through an international competitive tender procedure as per the rules and regulations of FAO.

All bids must be delivered to the address below by 12.00 h, noon, Nairobi time, on 23rd December 2009. They will be opened immediately thereafter. The bid opening will not be public. Late bids will be rejected.
