The Danish Refugee Council, Puntland Programme, is seeking for a qualified and experienced Somali National for the following position, to be based in Gardo Sub Office.
Community Development worker (CDRD/CDD Programme)
The bearer of this position will facilitate the implementation of DRC Community Driven Development and Recovery (CDRD/CDD) project and other humanitarian activities for settlements, Urban and rural communities in Gardo district. These projects target the host communities in Puntland and DRC work closely with rural communities, local authorities and the Government of Puntland. Position reports to Gardo Team Leader.Key Responsibilities:· Help empower the communities to be able to manage their projects by themselves and have the ability to sustain the projects.· Help raise the awareness of the communities in regards to issues that could improve their livelihoods.· Facilitate relations between DRC and the local communities.· Prepare needs assessment surveys.· Conduct baseline data collection and compilation in close collaboration with the DRC M&E unit.· Perform impact assessments and regular monitoring in collaboration with the DRC M&E unit – follow up of already implemented projects in order to ensure sustainability.· Plan, prepare and together with the community carry out community development plans.· Ensure community involvement and contribution.· Ensure equal participation by all segments of the community, taking into consideration issues regarding gender and age.· Identify and implement training needs to local communities, villages, organizations and leaders.· Coordinating internally with other DRC sectors and externally with other partners.· Other relevant duties as directed by supervisors Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years experience in similar position in an NGO or INGO. A Minimum of a high Diploma or Bachelors degree in Development and Administration or relevant course.
